PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF RWANDA PAUL KAGAME AND EGYPTS MINISTER FOR AGRICULTURE AMEN ABAZA VISITED MINAPHARM PHARMACEUTICALS AND ITS SUBSIDUARY RHEIN MINAPHARM BIOGENETICS

PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF RWANDA PAUL KAGAME AND EGYPTS MINISTER FOR AGRICULTURE AMEN ABAZA VISITED MINAPHARM PHARMACEUTICALS AND ITS SUBSIDUARY RHEIN MINAPHARM BIOGENETICS

 

During his 4 day state visit to Egypt, Rwanda president Paul Kagame and a political delegation payed an attendance to Minapharm Pharmaceuticals. He was accompanied by the Egyptian Minister for Agriculture Mr. Amen Abaza. 

 

The 45 minutes lasting visit contained an introductive presentation through Minapharms CEO Dr. Wafik El Bardissi showing the history of Minapharm Pharmaceuticals and the start of Minapharms activities in the field of biotechnology. Nowadays Minapharm is at the forefront of biotechnologically derived recombinant proteins such as an own inhouse produced PEGylated-Interferon-alpha 2a – the 3rd PEGylated IFN-alpha in the world.  The presentation was followed by a guided tour through Rhein Minapharm Biogenetics’ Interferon and Hirudin production facility, including the new mammalian cell culture area, as well as a route through facilities of Minapharms pharmaceutical departments.
